Why α-POLYGOSAN?

α-POLYGOSAN was developed to support the healthy condition of the skin, nails and hair, to protect the cells from oxidative stress, to support the immune system and to reduce fatigue.

Important ingredients α-POLYGOSAN contains resveratrol as a natural extract (98% resveratrol extracted from the plant Polygonum Cuspidatum), which is a recognized antioxidant and collagen as an important natural component of the skin structure. In addition, α-POLYGOSAN contains coenzyme-Q10, which also has antioxidative properties.

Special minerals (selenium, zinc) and vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, biotin, folic acid, vitamin C, E and D) support the antioxidant properties of the product.

Dietary supplement contains resveratrol, collagen, Coenzyme-Q10, vitamins and minerals

Product description
α-POLYGOSAN has been developed for the preservation of healthy skin, based on scientific knowledge.

Important ingredients
α-POLYGOSAN contains a natural plant extract with antioxidant properties (resveratrol from Polygonum Cuspidatum); collagen, which is the natural building block of the skin’s structure; Coenzyme-Q10, which also has antioxidant effects; special minerals (selenium and zinc) which can increase the antioxidant effect of the product; and several vitamins ( B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, biotin, folic-acid, Vitamin-C, E and D) which are very important for proper functioning of the human organism.

Aging process of the skin
During the aging process the structure of our skin changes. These changes are caused partly by different harmful environmental factors (UV-radiation, harmful chemicals and other pollution particles in the air) and from the natural biochemical process of aging.

Collagen, a natural protein, is a structural component of the skin, which assures elasticity and hydratation by it’s very high water-binding ability. During the aging process the ability of our bodies to produce collagen decreases, consequently reducing the quantity of collagen in our skin. This, in turn, alters the skin’s structure, making it thinner and eventually wrinkled. The loss in self-produced collagen, however, could be compensated by way of our diet, and in this way we may be able to aid the organisme to delay the aging process of our skin.

The skin is the primary protection layer of our body. UV-radiation, for example, can be responsible for the creation of so-called „free radicals”, which have very strong oxidative features, destructive to skin cells. These „free radicals” can cause lesions in collagen fibers and a decrease in the production of elastin, the other very important structural element of the skin, consequently speeding up the wrinkling process.

If we supplement our diet with the appropriate amount of antioxidants, we could have a good chance of helping to mitigate the oxidative effects of these "free radicals" and UV radiation.

Resveratrol
is a type of polyphenol containing naturally derived antioxidants. It can be found in red grapes, in their seeds and skin and in red wine made from these grapes. Significant amounts can also be found in cocoa and in hazelnuts. One of the widely recognized natural sources of resveratrol is the plant, Polygonum Cuspidatum. This plant is an acknowledged raw material for the natural extraction of resveratrol and is the type of resveratrol used in α-POLYGOSAN.

Resveratrol is being used in the cosmetic industry by highly respected producers because in the opinion of certain scientists: "Resveratrol is very beneficial for the treatment of the skin on the basis of its antioxidant features. It combats high oxidative stress which is harmful for skin cells. (Ndiaye M. et al "The Grape Antioxidant Resveratrol for Skin Disorders: Promise, Prospect and Challenges", "Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics", 508.2 (2011) pp. 160-174.)

According to other scientific articles resveratrol could decrease skin pigmentation disorders caused by UV-radiation and could repair the process of collagen synthesis ( Soeur, J. et al. "Skin resistance to oxidative stress induced by resveratrol: from Nrf2 activation to GSH biosynthesis", "Free Radical Biology and Medicine 78" (2015) pp. 213-223).

Coenzyme-Q10
(Ubiquinon, Ubidecarenon) can be found as a natural molecule in every cell of the human body. It performs a central role in the energy production of our organism because it can behave as an electron accceptor or donor molecule through its redox features and can participate in the so-called "terminal oxidation process" which produces the most important „fuel” of our body, the ATP (Adenosin-Tri-Phosphate). Coenzyme-Q10 also has a very potent antioxidant feature because in its reduced form it can neutralise the harmful "free radicals."

Zinc (Zn) Is an essential mineral for the working of our organism. It participates in the function of almost 350 enzymes similar to a coenzyme and it has antioxidant properties as well.

Zink
• Contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
• Contributes to normal functioning of the immune system.
• Contributes to the maintanance of normal hair, nails and skin.
• Contributes to normal protein and DNA synthesis.

Das andere wichtige Mineral mit hoher antioxidativer Eigenschaft ist Selen (Se):

Selenium
• Contributes to the protection of cells from antioxidant stress.
• Contributes to normal functioning of the immune system.
• Contributes to the maintanance of normal hair and nails
• Contributes to normal functioning of the thyroid gland.
• Normal functioning of the thyroid gland can influence the condition of the skin.

Vitamins Are also fundamental natural compounds for the human body. Hence a sufficient suppply of vitamins needs to be absorbed through nutrician. Many vitamins have antioxidant properties and have a positive effect on the collagen production. This is the reason that α-POLYGOSAN contains the following vitamin combination:
